Kolab Systems AG

So, the cat is out of the bag. Kolab Systems AG has been a long time in arriving. But it is not late, in fact it is just in time.

I am not going to say too much here (now or in the future) about the business side of Kolab Systems AG. That, of course, is what we have our shiny website for. Do, however, expect to hear more from me regarding the Kolab Groupware Solution and, in particular KDE PIM. It is a rare opportunity to be part of a new business and I feel particularly lucky that I can spend time promoting KDE technologies professionally. I am likewise looking forward to working with the rest of the Kolab community and its upstream partners and its distribution partners.

I will not say too much more on Kolab Systems AG at this time. The next you will hear from me will probably be the new KDE PIM commit digest that I am working on. A draft for February will be out soon and, given the following conversations, the “final” approach will be used for March (published in April).

One last thing: To all my friends from KDE and elsewhere who I have not been in contact with recently (especially those who I have not spent enough time with at either FOSDEM or the KDE 4.4 party in Scotland), I will try my utmost to be less crap in future.
