So what is going on with me? Noone has heard from me in a while and I thought I would just take a moment to get everyone back up to speed…
So, to keep it short:
- PhD is complete
- I now work for KDAB
- My blog can now be found at http://blogs.fsfe.org/padams/
- I have a new GPG key (8996 74F6), get it from keys.gnupg.net
I am no-longer Chairman of the BCS Open Source Specialist Group (actually this news is over a year old). I simply did not have the time to dedicate to the role. These days I promote and support Free Software through my work and through membership of the Fellowship of the FSFE.
What am I doing at KDAB? It makes no sense, right? It’s not like I’m a Qt Expert. I’m barely a marginally-above-average Python programmer. Well, in a growing business like KDAB, you eventually need people to fill a wider range of roles than before. I’d love to tell you precisely what role I am now filling, but I would have to kill you. You will all find out soon. For now, let me tell you this… It is awesome and it is coming soon.
Due to focusing on winding-up my PhD and finding work, I was woeful at blogging last year. This situation will change this year as I focus my blogging into specific areas. These will become clear as time passes.
Please don’t forget that I have changed my blog address and have a new GPG key: act accordingly.
I wish you all a prosperous 2010.

Ade! Dude! I have missed you! Remember working at CodeYard? That was a blast.
